THE LESS CAPABLE YOU ARE -- THE MORE YOU CAN ACHIEVE

THE LESS CAPABLE YOU ARE – THE MORE YOU CAN ACHIEVE
BY DR. MERVYN ABREO

Unlike in the natural, it’s just the opposite in the spiritual!      Because in the natural you depend on yourself, whereas in the spiritual you depend on God!
And as you dependence on Him increases, greater are the deeds He is able to perform through you, resulting in greater glory to Him!

JESUS: A simple example is when the Lord fed the multitudes. With seven loves He was able to fees four thousand. (Luke 8: 1-13).
But with five loves Jesus was able to feed five thousand. (John 6: 1-15).
When He had less loaves Jesus was able to feed many more.
Of course, here Jesus was only showing by example. He would have fed the multitude even if He didn’t have a single loaf to begin with!

ELISHA: A similar incidence occurred in the Old Testament when the prophet Elisha fed a hundred men with just twenty loves, with some to spare. (2 Kings 4: 42-44).

GIDEON: When Gideon led the Israelites against the Medianites, the Israelites were 32,000 in number, yet vastly outnumbered by the enemy who were too numerous to count. But God made Gideon send back 22,000 who were faint hearted, leaving only 10,000 behind.
Still God wasn’t satisfied. So Gideon retained only 300. And with this miniscule army, fought and defeated the enemy, thereby giving all the glory to God. (Judges: Chapters 6 & 7).

DAVID: Even as a lad fought and killed Goliath when strong grownup fighting men couldn’t do so. (1 Samuel Chapter 17).

SAMSON: He tears the city gate, together with the two posts, bar and all, and carries them to the top of the hill. (Judges 16:3). And brought the temple crashing down, killing more Philistines than any time before in his life. (Judges 16:30).

ISRAEL: In the Old Testament there are innumerable examples of God, not only protecting His people, but giving them victory after victory over their enemies even when the Israelites were vastly outnumbered.
But let Israel never forget what God said to them (Deuteronomt 7:7); that He protected and fought for them not because of their strength, because they were the fewest of all the people, but because He loved them!

In the New Testament God not only brought about their victory during the SIX DAY WAR, when the state of Israel was formed, but is with them day in and day out when their very survival is threatened by armies which vastly outnumber them.

US: We should never be afraid, and when the odds are against us, like Elisha, who was surrounded by an entire enemy, boldly proclaimed: “Don’t be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” (2 Kings 6: 16).
