WOULD JESUS HAVE DIED FOR JUST ONE PERSON?

WOULD JESUS HAVE DIED FOR JUST ONE PERSON?
or
IF YOU WERE THE ONLY PERSON ON EARTH WOULD JESUS CHRIST HAVE STILL COME DOWN AND DIED ON THE CROSS TO SAVE YOU?
BY DR. MERVYN ABREO

I shudder when preachers ask the congregation this question. And very happily go on to say, that He would definitely have come down on earth, had there been even a single individual to save.

Now don’t get me wrong. He would definitely have come.
But that’s not the issue here!
Because the question misleads! It causes people to focuses on numbers It implies that had there been one single person, then and only then, would God’s complete attention and effort been focussed on that single individual.
But in reality, since there are so many people who need salvation, it automatically follows that the Lord’s focus on us has become divided and diluted.
Why? Because the question has been put to human beings. And it will be answered from a human perspective, and not from that of the Creator.
An example: I have two children, Neil, and his younger sister, Jennifer.

When Neil was born he was the center of attention. But then Jenny came along. We loved both our kids equally. We still do. But our love and attention was divided between the two. Because we are only human.
Those of you who have many brothers and sisters know what I’m talking about. It’s causes sibling rivalry.
Now, God created Adam first, who enjoyed the full measure of God’s love and attention. But then came Eve.

Did Adam’s world change? Not at all! Because now, both Adam and Eve each equally enjoyed God’s undivided love and attention.
And God’s undivided attention and presence was unaffected even when people multiplied, and there were millions and billions of us on the planet.
And though you and I became just solitary individuals, lost in the vast sea of humanity, it still didn’t matter. God is still completely and totally present with each and every one of us, giving each individual His undivided attention.

And this is possible because God is Omnipresent.
He is in His complete fullness, in all places at all times, with each and every one of us.
On the other hand, we are boxed in a three dimensional world of time, space and matter.
(For a better understanding I would advise the reader to read my article: ‘UNDERSTANDING TIME, SPACE AND MATTER’).
But God isn’t boxed in by time, space and matter!
And therefore, we should not look at our world in the natural, but through spiritual eyes.
And we will comprehend that the entire drama of His virgin birth, His ministry, His passion and death on the cross, as well as His resurrection, was played out individually for the benefit of each and every one of us.
Therefore in reality, Jesus has come and died, in totality, for each individual human being.
But, of course, only those who accept Him as Lord and Savior, will be saved and go to heaven, and spend eternity, (a place of timelessness), with Him!
