SECRET BEHIND SOLOMON’S WISDOM

          If you’re answer is: God appeared to him in a dream and was willing to grant him anything he asked for. And Solomon asked for wisdom, and got it! (1Kings 3: 4-13).

          Then it wouldn’t be a secret, would it?

          Solomon became a man of wisdom because he was wise to start with, and therefore asked for wisdom!

                                            

THE SECRET: Words have power and the prophetic words spoken by king David to Solomon before his death came to life!

          When David was fleeing from his son Absalom, Shimei a descendant of Saul, had hurled curses and insults at him. He had then spared Shimei his life; and again spared it on his return, after defeating Absalom.

          But on his deathbed, when giving his final words of advice, David tells Solomon: “But now, do not consider him (Shimei) innocent. You are a man of wisdom; you will know what to do to him. Bring his gray head down to the grave in blood.” (1Kings 2:9).

          And Solomon, using his ingenuity, did exactly as his father David had asked for! (1Kings 2:36-38; 39-46).  

          But what was important, and had stuck in Solomon’s mind, was that his father David had called him A MAN OF WISDOM!

          And so he considered himself wise!

          And wise men ask for wise things!

          And it was WISDOM he asked from God! And got it!
