CAN WE EVER LOSE OUR SALVATION? NO! NEVER!!

          There are two schools of thought, each backed with a battery of Scripture verses, both claiming the exact opposite.

          On one side you have those that claim that once you are saved, there is absolutely no way that you can lose your salvation!

          Whereas, on the other hand, you have those who believe that, though you have given your life to Jesus and are saved, there are ‘certain conditions to be met, situations that could occur or certain decisions that you could make’ that would result in you losing your salvation!

          Without going into the intricacies of analyzing the opposing Scripture verses, we have to first realize that what we are doing by entertaining and analyzing these opposite arguments, probably without realizing it, is challenging the validity of ‘Bible truth’. And thereby calling God a liar!

          How?!! Here’s how!!

          If you interpret certain Scripture verses to conclude that you could lose your salvation, then it’s fine if it had ended there!

          But when you also claim that there are verses to the contrary, that once saved, you cannot lose your salvation, then you are proclaiming that the Bible is contradictory!

          And that is not possible!

          Because two opposing theories cannot exist simultaneously!!

          Because the Bible can never contradict itself!

          Therefore there is something illogical in your so called logic!

          WHY CAN WE NOT LOSE OUR SALVATION?!

          Because it’s not ours to lose!!

          The moment we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become ‘chosen in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight….predestined to be adopted as His sons and daughters………redemption through His blood……….’ (Ephesians 1: 3 – 10).
              The faith that came into operation when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior is sufficient and binding forever. And it is this faith which will take us to heaven! It is everlasting and binding irrespective of weather our faith wavers during our lifetime. We were sealed once and for all by the Holy Spirit and this covenant between God and us is unbreakable!!   

THE CATALYST FOR SALVATION”

          On one hand we have Lord Jesus Who wants to save us. And on the other there are those of us who want to be saved.

          And the catalyst is FAITH!

          Just as FAITH caused Jesus to rise Himself from the dead (and not the Father, unless you believe in three gods), it is this FAITH, which came into operation and which enabled us to give our life to Jesus, and it is this FAITH that will automatically come into operation and enable us to waltz into heaven!

  

DECEPTION FROM HELL:

          One of our greatest weapons against Satan is the ‘shield of faith’!

          And another is ‘the helmet of salvation’!

          And obviously both, along with ‘breastplate of righteousness, footwear of peace and the shield, the Word of God,’ all go hand in hand    (Ephesians 6:13 – 17).

          A warrior knows what would happen if he had a weak spot. The consequences would be disastrous!!

          Similarly, in our spiritual battle with Satan and his demonic hoards, both to protect ourselves as well as to bring out the unsaved from inside his kingdom, we need to be fully protected.

          Doubt weakens our armor and makes us vulnerable!

          And therefore this is Satan’s ploy!

          His first deception is that he does not exist! This is how he fools unbelievers!

          And for believers, continuous insecurity that they could eventually lose their salvation!

          Realize once and for all. Nothing! Absolutely nothing can take you out of the Lord’s hands!!

          ONCE SAVED! YOU REMAIN SAVED FOREVER!!

PEACE – A FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Peace in the most unexpected of all places!

                                                          

 

                                    

          There was a world competition for painters and the theme was ‘peace.’ Hundreds of scenes were painted: an old couple sitting on the banks of a river, birds gliding through the air, a pond in the middle of a garden, the sun setting over the mountains, etc.

                   But the first prize went to the painter who had painted a storm!

                                                                

         

                  It was a violently raging storm, with the wind lashing with all its might, rain cascading down in torrents, lightening striking ominously and the trees shaken to their very roots.

                                                           

                    But at the center of the storm was a tree, and in the lee of its two branches was a nest in which a mother bird and her little chicks were sitting peacefully.
                 This was a perfect depiction of peace in the midst of a storm.

                                                                 

                   As Jesus has said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” (John 14:27).

JOY – A FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

                   There was once a man who got so depressed that he wanted to commit suicide. Seeing his condition some of his co-workers took him to a psychiatrist. 

                                                           

                                                              

           The doctor prescribed some anti-depressants, but strongly advised him: “Go to the circus this evening. Bozo the world’s funniest clown is performing. He will really make you laugh. You are bound to forget all your problems. That’s the best medicine I could prescribe.”

                   To which the patient looks up to the doctor and says: “It’s no use doctor. I am Bozo the clown.”

                   On one side we have Bozo the funniest man on earth who wanted to kill himself. And on the other we have Jesus who died a clown’s death on the cross so that you and I could have joy.      

                                                            

                   Let us give the Lord a mighty shout of praise.

LOVE – A FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

So much love from the mentally challenged.                                          

                             

                   This incident happened at one of the Olympic Games for children who were mentally challenged. The kids were all lined up at the starting point. And as the signal went off, they ran towards the finishing line.

           But as they were on their way, one little girl slipped and fell, and some of the spectators laughed. Realizing that something was amiss the runners stopped and looked back. Seeing that one of their own had fallen, they ran back, picked up their fallen comrade and carried her across the finishing line. 

         The thousands of people who had witnessed this said that that was the best example of love in action that they had ever witnessed.

                                                                

                   I challenge you today. What would you do if one of your Church members falls into sin, be it adultery, homosexuality, robbery, rape or whatever. Would you, like some of the spectators, laugh?

                      

           Or rather would you run back, pick up your fallen brother or sister, and help him or her across the finishing line: so that together we can say, “we have fought the good fight, we have finished the race, we have kept the faith.”

                                                            

                   I want you to turn to the person next to you, or message someone and say: “I will always be there for you.”

LOVE AND THE BIBLE: ‘God loves’ and ‘God is love’ are expressions found in the Bible! Some have gone even to the extent of saying that these claims are exclusive only to the Bible.

                                                   

 

           But I know that the God of the Bible, the Lord Jesus Christ is a God of love, because He died for me! Even when crucified He cried out to the Father to forgive those who had crucified Him. And because of that he won the heart of one of the two criminals who had been crucified with Him.

          But what is important for us is that, only as a God of love, can He be gracious and forgive us our sins. And without this reconciliation, it would be impossible to enter heaven and live with Him, the perfect God, for all eternity.

                                                           

                                   

         

         

          So the only answer to mankind's deepest need is the Lord Jesus, the one true living God, Who is the Christ! And thus we have His unconditional love, with joy and peace for all eternity.

          This was the sign put up outside a public eating place. 
          And the reason for this will be explained by this incident.

                                                     

          A doctor friend of mine, who runs a small hospital, had operated on a rich patient. After a few days, during the recovery period, special food from a nearby hotel had been ordered for the patient.

           But when he came to know that the food was from outside, he refused to eat and preferred something coked by my friend’s wife.

                                                   

               His explanation was that he himself was the owner of a hotel and knew what went into the  preparation of the food. And this did not apply to only street food, but is a common phenomena in most average eating houses.

           Cooked food is usually kept open, with the result that not only do flies constantly alight on them but even cockroaches run all over these ‘delicacies’.

        Food is usually handled with unwashed hands. Cooked food is commonly stored near, or sometimes even inside toilets.      Water which is served is not boiled and is often from bore wells, which contains parasites. Vegetables used in food preparation are the leftovers and already spoiling and so it can be bought cheaper.

          There is nothing like a good, wholesome home cooked meal!

         

This same principle applies when evangelizing.

                                                      

          It is only after we ourselves have tasted of the Lord, and are convinced of His love, joy, peace, goodness, mercy, etc. can we successfully  get across to others what the Lord has wonderfully achieved by His death and resurrection. And what salvation is really all about!

          There is an old English expression which says: The proof of the pudding is eating it!

                                                          

          And has probably been derived from the Bible: “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34: 8).

         And He tastes like honey in the rock!

                                                      

          And the more we eat and the more we appreciate the Lord's goodness, the stronger will our conviction be.
              And more forceful, beneficial  and rewarding will our evangelizing of others be!

TIME AND THE BIBLE

TIME & THE BIBLE

          Time and the Bible are interwoven. They go hand in hand.

          The Bible talks about the beginning of time. And about the end of days when time will cease.

          It also talks about a ‘time’ before the creation of time when there was no time. And a ‘time’ after the end of time when there will be no time!

          Some of the secrets of time are subtly hidden in the chapters and verses of the Holy Book. E.g. Thousands of years ago Job speaks of the earth hanging over nothing, when the world had not even dreamed of such a concept.

         By ferreting out these secrets could we not advance in our scientific knowledge and acquire a better understanding of the world that we live in?

          And understanding time is crucial to understanding some of the ‘mysteries’ and so called ‘contradiction’ of the Bible! E.g. pre-election and pre-destination as against free will, prophesy, the Holy Trinity etc. to name a few.

HOW TO GET SMART

HOW TO GET SMART

          There are thousands of books written on this subject, but mine is the best, the cheapest and the most efficacious!

          Why? Because you will get instantaneous results!

          Here’s how!! Get on your knees and ask God, i.e. the Lord Jesus Christ. And He will make you smart!!

STOP READING ANY FURTHER!!

          I am saying this as a preemptive to what you intend to do any way!

          Because nobody, anyway almost nobody wants this ‘religious’ stuff.

          But for those who are ‘smart’ enough to humble themselves and ask the Lord for wisdom and knowledge, He is willing and faithful to oblige.

          King David, on his death bed, when advising his son Solomon as to how to conduct himself as a king, called him ‘wise’! And when God asked Solomon what he desired, he was ‘smart’ enough to ask for the right thing.

          And so he asked for wisdom! And he got it!

          For once, I am not giving any Biblical references. If you really want to get smart, start by asking God. And he will lead to you them!
