INFINITE PUNISHMENT FOR A FINITE SIN?

INFINITE PUNISHMENT FOR A FINITE SIN?
BY DR MERVYN ABREO

When ever the issue of ‘time’ arises, I have used this blog, “power over time, space and matter,” to look at time in a new light. (No pun intended).
And therefore, infinity is not ‘endless time,’ but a state of ‘timelessness.’

Time, as we know it, had a definite beginning. And will have a definite end!
Therefore, there was a ‘time’ before the beginning of time when there was no time. And there will be a ‘time’ after the end of time, when there will be no time!
Now, coming to the issue of an infinite punishment for a finite sin, we have to firstly comprehend what ‘sin’ really is.

Sin is not murder, robbery adultery etc. These are acts of sin.
Sin is basically rejecting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior!

If a young woman rejects the overtures of a young man, thereby rejecting his proposal, she refuses to be his wife and therefore there can be no marriage. And no ‘living with him forever and ever, till death do us apart.’
Similarly, when we reject Jesus, we refuse to become the bride of Christ, which is basically His body, the Church.

And so we leave Him no option, but for Him to live with those who have accepted Him, after this world comes to an end, which it definitely will, and to ‘reject’ us.

SIN & SALVATION ON THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE: Sin is beautifully depicted in the parable ‘The Wedding Banquet’ as recorded by Mathew in verse22. Sin is people rejecting the Banquet, an allegory for heaven, and preferring to go about their usual business!

So, if we had accepted Him, we would have lived with Him, in His world of love, joy, peace etc.
But since we have rejected him, we will definitely continue to exist in a world with no love, joy, peace etc. Which is a living hell!!

Satan, and his demons are boxed inside such a world, from which they cannot repent and thereby escape. When Jesus confronted them, they could have asked for mercy. But they had no other choice but to postpone the eternal hell they were going to spend eternity. And so they begged of the Lord not to send them into the abyss before their time.
TIME FOR YOU WILL NOT LAST FOREVER. GIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST RIGHT NOW!!
